New Essence Colour & Go bottles

New Bottle: Break Through Old Bottle: Choose me!

I passed the Essence display at my local Ulta (which is always picked over) and saw new pretty bottles of the Colour & Go. I picked up two bottles, but after trying them I am going back for more!

The caps are easier to hold and the wider brush means you use less strokes to apply the polish.

This is 3 coats of Break Through. *swoon* I am SO in love with this color. I noticed something funny when I went to take pictures.

This polish matches my camera PERFECTLY. (The color is a bit off because I used my cruddy cell camera)

Have you tried any of the new polishes? Which ones do I NEED to buy? I have "Chic Reloaded" in my Ulta cart right now.

Wet N Wild Fergie Polishes

Fergie: Kaleidoscope Eyes & Flossy Flossy Essie: Marshmallow Sinful Colors: Cinderella

I stopped by my local Walgreens and these Wet N Wild Fergie colors caught my eye! The blue one looked really familiar, but I wasn't sure why. Then it hit me- it looked a lot like one of my Spoiled polishes! Bummer for me that I bought two Fergie polishes and they are the same as Spoiled colors I already have. GREAT news if you don't have a Riteaid to buy Spoiled polishes, now you can find some of the colors at Walgreens.

Sally Beauty Haul - lots of Orly!

Orly: Neon FX french manicure, Spazmatic, & Be Brave.

Went to Sally's hoping to find the new Orly Flash Glam FX collection. It was hard to choose only two colors! They ended up being $5.99 each! If I would have know that before I checked my receipt I would have bought more. The french manicure set was a steal too at $8.99.

Sally Girl: No Name & China Glaze: Flirty Tankini

The China Glaze Summer Neons collection was picked over, but I did manage to snag Flirty Tankini. I needed a nice navy blue so I grabbed a Sally Girl polish. I think the sticker with the name fell off the bottle! Seeing the two bottles together I'm thinking of a blue mani with Tankini as an accent nail. Or maybe Tankini with a blue stamped design.

What are your favorite polishes from the Glam FX & Summer Neon collections?

Julep Mystery Box

Julep: Fast Dry Topcoat, Amy, Gayle, January, & Daylight Defense lip balm.

I've really been enjoying my Julep boxes. I tend to pick boxes with more products than polish. It's a great way to try some of their pricier items. I got the Sicilian Orange Foot Soak in one of my recent boxes and it smells great! Back to the mystery box =)  I like 2 out of the 3 polishes so no complaints here! I am adding "January" to my stash of giveaway goodies. The lip balm feels good on my lips, but I am not a huge fan of minty lip products. It isn't OVERLY minty so I still use it.  Did you order a Julep mystery box?

Sugar Cookie Bars

This is the first recipe review I am sharing on Sugared Polish. One of the reasons I chose the name Sugared Polish for my blog is because I love to bake and always seem to have some sort of sugar on my polish. I plan on posting more recipes I've tried along with polish hauls, manis, and product reviews.

I saw this recipe for Sugar Cookie bars all over Pinterest and tracked it down to Love & Olive Oil's blog. I've made her cookie dough truffles before (to die for) so I knew I couldn't go wrong with this recipe.

The only changes I made to the recipe was I halved it (there's only two of us so 32 bars was out of the question!) and baked it in a square 9"x9" pan. My pan is dark nonstick so I baked the bars at 350 for about 20 min. I cut the bars in to 9 (BIG) pieces, but you could totally cut them smaller. I *might* have dug through my sprinkles and picked all of the pink hearts out of Valentine sprinkle mix for the red jimmies. The bars ended up being tasty and super easy. Much less work than individual cookies and the original recipe makes enough to share.

Have you baked anything delicious recipes lately? Feel free to leave links in the comments. I love trying new recipes!

Calgon Ageless Bath Body Scrub and Soak - Review

I have a confession to make. I am a scrubaholic. Any time I see a body scrub I have to buy it! Even though I know I could whip up some salt & oil in my kitchen and save some money. When I like a scrub I rarely buy it again because there are more for me to try! That being said this is my second jar of Calgon
Ageless Bath Body Scrub and Soak. Whew that is a long name! I found it at my local Target and was afraid they might not carry it anymore because it's been missing from the shelf for a few weeks. On my last shopping trip I saw one lonely jar sitting on the shelf. Needless to say I gladly rescued it.

I love that it is scrubby and moisturizing without being heavy and greasy. I dislike body scrubs that leave your skin feeling like an oil slick. Being able to use it in the bath and shower is a huge plus in my book. Sure you can use any scrub in the bath, but again the oily type just make a ring in your tub. The one small complaint that I have is with the jojoba esters. They don't dissolve when the scrub is used so they end up all over my tub when the water drains out. It's a minor flaw and is not going to keep me from repurchasing the scrub.

Blue Jelly Samich

Today I have my first "jelly sandwich" to share with you. The results are soo pretty, but this technique makes for long drying time because of the multiple polish layers. I started out with two coats of Loreal "Waters Edge", followed by a layer of Kleancolor "Starry Blue", a layer of Revlon "Sheer Seafoam", and one last layer of a matte topcoat.
